Situation

The chalet is located near the center of Haute-Nendaz (5 minutes by car). Lovers of skiing and cross country skiing will be delighted because the area "Les 4 Vallées" offers its 412 km of tracks.. Sornard is in a holiday chalet village or habitation in the year. A very quiet for people loving nature and tranquility.

Municipality

The town has about fifteen villages. Basse-Nendaz is the administrative capital. Close to Sion, the town of Nendaz is in the middle of the Rhone valley on the left bank. Its immense territory of 8593 hectares has several unique features: it follows the contours of the valley of the same name and it extends from the fertile plain to the eternal snowfields. Forests cover nearly a quarter of its land. It plays a notorious protective role, preserving the devastation of erosion and avalanches. The valley is cut in two by the river Printse ; this raging river is both source and outlet of a multitude of irrigation channels (« bisse ») for irrigation.
Nendaz is surrounded by magnificent peaks, such as that Rosablanche, peaking at 3336 meters. From that point you have the most beautiful alpine viewpoint of the central Valais. Important to know, is that the Mont Fort (3330 meters) ist now accessible to all thanks to the lifts.

Access

Haute-Nendaz is located only 15 kilometers from Sion, the oldest town of Switzerland, where you will find all the necessary train and bus connections and where you will enjoy visiting the old town.

Nendaz is located 14 kilometer of Sion, the capital of Valais wich is the sunniest city of Switzerland (2200 hours of sunshine a year) ! It is accessible by one of the best « mountain roads » from the region. Even public transport or a taxi will bring you up to Nendaz. There is also an airport in Sion.

Shops/stores

the resort of Haute-Nendaz is inhabited and animated throughout the year and you will find here anything you desire such as: Various supermarkets (Migros, Coop, etc.), restaurants for every culinary tastes, various banks, a post office, an outside swimming pool, an ice rink, tennis and squash courts, a library, a child care center, doctors, etc.

Leisure time

Throughout the year, a wide range of activities as well as 412km of skiing slopes of the « 4 Vallées » area are available for you! On the “Mont Fort” glacier (3’300 Meters) you can enjoy skiing even in the summer time.
The ski area "les 4 Vallées": Overlooking the Rhône Valley, this resort provides access to the 4 Valleys ski area. During the winter, winter sports are kings. The vast choice of ski slopes, over 400 km in total, enables beginners and experienced skiers to have fun on the snowy slopes. During the summer, this resort is really popular with a lot of bikers and hikers.
Nendaz benefit of a unique network of irrigation channels (6 of 8 are still with water).
The trails along the irrigation channel are gently sloping, shaded and without motorized traffic.
In July, Nendaz becomes capital of the alphorn, thanks to its festival.

With 410km of runs and 89 lifts covered by a single ski pass, the 4 Valley ski area is seemingly infinte.
Its countless possibilites, the quality of snow throughout the season and its above-average amount of sunshine make this an exceptional charming site for more than one reason !
Culminating at the top of the Mont-Fort glacier (3'330m), the ski area is a paradise for all winter enthusiasts, whether beginner or expert. Open from december till end of april, it connects all the mountain ski resort of Verbier, la Tzoumaz and Bruson as well as Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon together !
Many walks along “bisses” and /or in the forest are a few steps away from your future chalet. With 8 „bisses“, Nendaz has a unique network of “bisses”. The area offers 250km of walking paths to relax and explore the nature.

There are so many activities for young and old that Haute Nendaz received the official swiss label “Families Welcome”!

Haute-Nendaz also offers a modern wellness and spa facility of 2’200 square meters located in a 4 star superior hotel. Amongst others, you will enjoy an outside swimming pool, a Turkish bath, saunas, Jacuzzis, treatment rooms and a children’s area. There are also 2 private wellness areas.
